The Global Plan to Stop
TB 2006 - 2015 is a comprehensive assessement of the action and resources needed to implement the Stop TB strategy and make an impact on the gloabl TB burden.








ABOUT THE NATIONAL COORDINATION COMMITTEE
The NCC is composed of members from National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Program (NTLP), National AIDS Control Program (NACP), World Health Organization (WHO), District Health Services, and key stakeholders at the national level among which are development partners, support organizations for people living with HIV/AIDS and Faith based Organizations. The NCC is chaired by the Assistant Commissioner Health Services, National Disease Control Department. The NCC is supported by a National TB and HIV Collaboration Officer who ensures an important focus on the proposed activities, as well as an important link between the NTLP and the NACP and between the NCC and the districts.

Important areas of responsibility for the NCC are:
  • Developing/adapting guidelines for collaborative activities
  • Governance and mobilization of resources for TB/HIV activities
  • Capacity-building including training
  • Ensuring coherence of communication about TB/HIV
  • Ensuring the participation of the community in joint TB/HIV activities
  • Overseeing the preparation of the evidence base

SUBCOMMITTEES
Guidelines and Policy Subcommittee:
The subcommittee has a responsibility of reviewing policy guidelines on both TB and HIV/AIDS control and adapting WHO, TB/HIV guidelines to the Ugandan situation so that policy guidelines for both NTLP and NACP reflect TB/HIV collaboration. However best practices from organizations that are implementing TB/HIV collaborative activities should also be put into consideration.
